Fudge Time!

It's December so it must be….FUDGE TIME!  I love this time of year!  Not just because fudge is incredibly yummy.  It's also fun to make and share.  This year I decided to make 4 different types - 3 tested recipes and 1 new one.

With the ingredients stacked in the kitchen, and this is only the half of it, I started on my fudge journey.

First, I made the new recipe:  S'mores

S'mores Fudge

Next, The incredibly smooth Milk Chocolate Fudge.

Next, after unwrapping countless candy canes with the help of all available hands came the Candy Cane Fudge.  Festive, right?

And, last but not least, my personal favorite….Oreo Fudge.

I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season.

Pumpkin Cookies

While perusing online (bhg.com to be specific) I came across a recipe that claimed, "Melt In Your Mouth Pumpkin Cookies."  It sounded tempting so I read the reviews.  Every single review raved at how great these cookies tasted.  So, of course, I had to make them.

Pumpkin Cookies

They did not disappoint!  Now to find lucky taste testers so that I don't eat them all!

Apples Galore!

So....what do you do with all of the apples that you come home with
after an afternoon of apple picking with three kids????

Can you believe that this is not all of them???

Healthy snacks - yes, of course.  Apple pie?  Good option.
Caramel Apples?  YES!!!!

Caramel Apples

The kids had a blast making these and it was very quick and easy to do.

Melt approx. 15 oz of caramel squares in a glass measuring cup with 1 tbs. water.  Stir at 30 second intervals to prevent burning.  Meanwhile, stick lollipop sticks into clean, dry apples.  Place toppings on a shallow plate or in a bowl.  When the caramel is melted, dip the apples inside.  Use the back of a spoon to wipe of any excess caramel.  Quickly roll in the topping, making sure to press gently.  Let cool on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper (lightly spray paper with cooking spray to prevent sticking).  And Voila!  Caramel apples for dessert!

The weather may be getting chilly, but it is all about the beach for this wedding shower!

The cake is a three-tiered vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream icing covered in fondant.  The shells are made out of gum paste and had painted with color.  The coral on the top of the cake is poured sugar.  The sand is graham cracker crumbs.  All in all - one big time edible beach day!

Is This Really Breakfast?

Powdered and Chocolate Glazed Donuts
Cinnamon Sugar Donuts

Even I can't justify this as a healthy breakfast!  But, we had the time and I had the desire so there you have it!  Powdered, Chocolate Glaze, and Cinnamon Sugar Donuts.

They are actually cake donuts made from scratch and baked in the oven.  They were a big hit.  I actually had to limit how many the kids could sneak.  The hardest lesson to learn - eat until your belly is fully and not because it is so yummy you just have to have more!

New Look, New Name

So, what do you think of the new look and the new name?  I loved this graphic and just had to add it.  Just wish a was a little more tech savvy - probably wouldn't have took so long if I knew the easy way to do it!  I also changed the name to reflect more of what I do.  I think it fits well.

Thanks for reading!
